As your 2009 JCI President, it is my pleasure to wish the members of Africa and the Middle East Development Council my best regards for the AMDEC North Meeting this 5-8 March, in Syria. Even now the year has just begun, and you continue to show the dedication, motivation, and enthusiasm that are the heart of the JCI Organisation.

We must remember that as members, we have the chance to change and impact the world globally by coming together under the same goal and I strongly believe JCI will be in the front lines for this movement."

Dear friends, dear members of Junior Chamber International in Africa and Middle East,

First of all, may the year 2009 bring Peace to each of our countries in Africa and Middle East, I wish you and those dear to you a prosperous and successful year.

Once again, our Regional AMDEC Meetings are launched. As the tradition demands, we need to grow from year to year and that we meet new challenges, which for them never change.

31 National Organizations for 65 countries in our Area.
14,000 members for more than 350,000,000 youth of 18 to 40 years in Africa and Middle East.

Our challenge remains the same, spread this wonderful Organization to other youth, make new active citizens and create positive changes in our communities.

Reach new countries and new communities with the Junior Chamber International.

These 3 or 4 days that we shall spend together according to region will enable us tie friendships, get trained, learn from our various experiences and to take hold of the recommendations of our Strategic Planning Committee (SPC).

The main Recommendation to each Local and National Organization is to record at least 10% growth.

Let’s therefore work, let’s give ourselves the means and learn from one another so that at the end of the Regional Meetings, we shall be capable of meeting the challenge and really live up to it.
